Big Bake for the FourPaws Day fete:
The Animal Rescue Organisation, which relieves the suffering of township animals,
needs volunteers to help bake for the Four Paws Day fete, to be held on Saturday 7th March at Rondebosch Park.

The Domestic Animal Rescue Group (DARG) needs volunteers for the following:
- Drivers to transfer animals from shelters/pounds to temporary or permanent homes.
- Friendly helpers to walk and wash dogs which are being temporarily housed;
- Answering of telephones;
- Visiting prospective homes both before and after adoptions;
- Lobbying on a local and national level for a National Sterilisation policy;
- Temporary fostering of animals for short periods prior to adoption.
The Cape of Good Hope SPCA
rehomes, on average, 120 animals every month to homes throughout the peninsula.
To ensure these adoptions are successful for the adopter and adoptee, it is very
important that the pet's new home be visited. However, physically visiting so many
homes over such a wide area is a huge drain on SPCA resources and help is needed to make
the Homes Visits Programme more successful.
Therefore, the SPCA is seeking volunteers to do home visits in their area;
training and support will be provided by SPCA inspectors.
